Social Media Advisory Group Members | Select Communities

We are looking for Black gay or bisexual men (especially those younger than 25) to serve on the HPTN 096 Social Media Advisory Group who live in:

  • Montgomery, Ala.
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Dallas, Texas

Members of the advisory group must be well-versed in using social media and understand how others use it in their community. This advisory group will provide input and insight into the social media strategy and its implementation. Commitment is 1-3 hours a month at $50/hour.

HPTN 096 is a research study that seeks to stop HIV in Black gay and bisexual men in the southern US. It is made up of four components that form an integrated strategy that includes reducing stigma, providing peer support, increasing health equity, and using social media to encourage HIV testing, the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to prevent HIV, and engagement in care for those living with HIV.

Social Media Core Working Group Member | Select Communities

We are looking for a Black straight man to serve on the HPTN 096 Social Media Core Working Group who lives in one of the following locations:

  • Montgomery, Ala.
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Dallas, Texas
  • Atlanta, Ga.
  • Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Fla.

The Core Working Group will lead the development, implementation, and interpretation of the HPTN 096 social media strategy, which aims to educate and engage Black gay and bisexual men on the topics of HIV, sexual health, and wellness.

Members of the social media core working group must be well-versed in various social media platforms and have experience in conceptualizing, developing and implementing multiple social media campaigns. The position offers $50/hour and requires:

  • Attendance at weekly calls
  • Participation in two in-person, 2-day social media summits (locations will vary)
  • Participation in up to five in-person content creation sessions (optional)
