HPTN 096 study leadership is actively seeking additional funding support with the goal of resuming study operations as soon as possible.

WHY IS HPTN 096 BEING PAUSED?

HPTN 096 is paused due to the current funding constraints.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PAUSE AND A STOP? 

A pause means that no research activities will continue at this time, but they may resume in the future. A complete stop of study activities, which is not currently the case for HPTN 096, means that all efforts to continue the study have ceased.

IS THIS THE END OF HPTN 096?

We hope not. HPTN 096 study leadership is actively working to secure funding so that this groundbreaking study can resume.

HOW LONG WILL THE PAUSE LAST?

We do not know. We are continuously reassessing the situation and will share updates as soon as we have more information on the status of funding and the next steps.
