STUDY COMMUNITIES
These communities will implement the HPTN 096 study intervention with an integrated strategy, including peer support, health equity, culturally responsive intersectional stigma prevention (CRISP), and social media.
The study was piloted in 2 communities (Dallas, TX, and Montgomery, AL) in 2022. In 2023, the study design was refined to incorporate lessons learned from the pilot.
This two-year intervention will be implemented in three (3) communities in the southern U.S. in 2025, including Dallas, TX; Montgomery, AL; and Fort Lauderdale & Miami, FL.
The study will not move forward in Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA unless additional funding is procured.
CRISP Healthcare Facilities
Forty healthcare facilities from 27 organizations across Dallas, TX, Montgomery, AL, Broward County, FL, and Miami-Dade County, FL, will participate in HPTN 096 as CRISP sites. These facilities have committed to improving the healthcare experience for Black MSM by participating in this study and will contribute data that will help us assess the study outcomes. These facilities will begin onboarding over the next several months, with implementation projected to start in early 2025:
