If you’re looking for support, you’re in the right place.

As part of the HPTN 096 Building Equity Through Advocacy study, you can get connected in your local community to Peer Supporters – role models for your sexual health and community wellbeing. We’re here when you’re ready.

The Peer Support program will offer support to 15 years and older Black queer, gay, bisexual, same-gender-loving, and other men who have sex with men (inclusive of transmasculine or transmasc people).

Currently, peer support is available to individuals residing in Dallas, Texas; Montgomery, Alabama and South Florida (Ft Lauderdale and Miami).

WHAT IS PEER SUPPORT?

Peer Supporters are local community members trained to serve as virtual role models and establish a mutually supportive and trusting relationship to address challenges, share knowledge, and connect you to resources in your community.

They will listen and offer support in a respectful and nonjudgmental way, empowering you to make informed decisions about your sexual health.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Peer Supporters will draw directly from their shared, lived, and relatable experiences to offer you a safe space to receive emotional and practical support as you navigate your sexual wellbeing and HIV status.

Peer Supporters help educate you on sexual health and HIV-related topics, self-care and wellbeing, and local Black MSM-centered health and support services and resources.

With flexible support, this is a mutual relationship built together by peers and their clients, with sessions available when needed (i.e., by phone, or email).

• New ideas and helpful approaches

• Encouragement, hope, and respect from someone who walked a similar path
